A fantastic performance by Olivia Sheehan in the 14 year girls 1500m freestyle gave her a brilliant 5th place, in what was a challenging week for Wigan BEST swimmers at the British Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
Olivia smashed her personal best by 16 seconds finishing in 17:54.44, a little over 3 seconds outside the medals. This was on the back of a great final swim in the 13/14 years 200m butterfly the evening before where Olivia fought hard in a tough final finishing 8th in a time of 2:24.56.
In the 15 years Rachel Hornby had a solid heat swim in the girls 200m Breaststroke making the final with a 2:43, finishing in 10th place.
Congratulations to Adia Tiernan who had a fantastic performances in Ireland at the Irish Nationals coming away with several personal best times. In the 400m IM Adia finished an excellent 5th place.
Our attentions now turn to Sheffield where wigan best swimmers will by fighting for medals in the English Championships.
