Congratulations to the swimmers who qualified and competed at the swim England Winter nationals
A record number of qualifiers for the winter nationals 2022, qualifiers as follows:
Rachel Hornby, Olivia Sheehan, Anna Healey, Samuel Grimes, Eve Horton, Lydia Swindell, Chloe Ridge, Isobel Liptrot, Evie Cutter, Alice Holt
The meet proved to be one of the fastest and most impressive meets of the season with multiple British records being broken, this does not take away from the multiple finalists that Wigan BEST managed to achieve with Olivia, Anna and Isobel all coming away from the meet with finals on the national stage once more.
All swimmers conducted themselves amazingly and it shows just how far we have come as a club, with swimmers aging from 13 all the way up to 18 competing at these championships.
I hope this competition inspires the next generation of Wigan BEST swimmers to push forwards and see what is achievable with hard work and dedication, all of these athletes mentioned above are great role models for all swimmers young and old.
