National group and AGP travelled over to Ponds Forge, Sheffield at weekend for the excellent Derventio level one meet in the next stage of the National Qualifying window.
It’s fair to say there were ups and downs as always but a big percentage of swimmers produced numerous personal best times with some improving from Regionals only the week before. Great job swimmers.
Highlight of the meet apart from Mel’s bacon butties was probably the exciting skins event held at the end of Sunday mornings session which saw Evie Cutter winning £30 as she won the 15 and unders, followed by Chloe Ridge also pocketing £30 as she finished second in the 15 and overs. Note to Evie and Chloe the coaches are still waiting for their share of the proceeds!!!!!!! Two great performances as the girls showcased their skills, strength, stamina and guts as did the whole group throughout the weekend.
With more swimmers dipping their toes into the bi- weekly ranking lists for this summers national championships the coaches will be looking for more of the same AND better at Leeds next week. As always thanks to our helpers Jo, Jen and Mel for their efforts.
