Following meetings by the various management teams it has been announced that April’s British Swimming Championships in London and the Swim England North West Regional Summer Championships have been cancelled following the announcement by the Government to implement increased social distancing,
Swim England have also announced that they are to suspend the qualifying window for the Summer National Championships. As yet we are unsure how this will effect the City of Sunderland and City of Sheffield Open Meet and will notify members as soon as possible.
The organisers will provide information shortly with regards to refunds for the events and any tickets that may have been purchased in advance.
With regards to training we have decided to suspend all land-training sessions as from Wednesday 18th March. Pool sessions will remain open for the time being as we await further information from Swim England and Inspiring healthy lifestyles.
We do advise that both parents and swimmers follow the well publicised information with regards to the coronavirus and suggest that parents limit themselves to dropping swimmers off at the pool which will keep contact to a minimum.
