Wigan Best Swim Squad coaches are continually monitoring and assessing the swimmers within all ability groups.
The coaches look at:-
- A swimmers application within training sessions, and at swim meets.
- Technical skills, racing skills development. British Swimming rankings.
- Regular 200m Individual Medley within training sessions are used to identify swimmers development, along with other test training sets.
- Land-Training development, and application.
NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our National Development Group is the senior/youth ability group of the squad and each swimmer has shown the desire and aptitude to succeed at a National Level. Swimmers are usual invited in to the group from the age of 14 years, however swimmers who have shown exceptional ability at a younger age may be fast-tracked to the group.
Swimmers are considered for the group once they have achieved one of the groups consideration times (TIMES VIEWED HERE) and they have met the Coaches expectations based on the above observations and test sets, along with National Rankings.
