Wigan Best Future Stars 10th Open Meet 2021

Date: Friday 26th, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th November 2021
Venue: Wigan Life Centre, College Avenue, Wigan, WN1 1NJ
Events: Events include 50m, 100m, 200m on all strokes, 100m, 200m, 400m individual medley, 400m, 800m(girls), 1500m(boys) freestyle.
Level: Licensed at level 2 2NW211012
Age: As the last day of the competition, Sunday 28th November 2021.
Entries: To be submitted via the Swimming Results online entry system only.

Please note due to limited capacity in the Wigan Life Centre this event will be closed to spectators.
However the event will be live streamed.
Warmup & Programme

The small pool will be available for swim down. This pool is 15m long and a depth of 0.9m. We ask that swimmers use this pool for the purpose of swim down only and limit swim downs to 10mins. NO DIVING
Live Streaming
Thanks to support from Wigan Council we will be streaming the event live, links will be available below and from the results page.
We would also like to thank Party Haus Sports Arcade who will be showing live streams on their huge HD projector screen. So parents can drop swimmers off and then watch from this venue.
Party Haus is less than a minutes walk away from the pool, situated at 46 King St, Wigan, WN1 1DY, directly above Morty’s. The Venue will be open from 9am to 5pm to cover the larger sessions, soft drinks will be available from 9am to 11am from 11am onwards the main bar and kitchen will be open serving drinks and food.
Withdrawals
All withdrawals must be made via the online form and must be made 50 minutes prior to the start of the session the event is in.
Passphrase for the form is pies.
Accepted Entries
I am pleased to announce that we have only had to make a very small number of rejections this year, 6 in total. Sadly these were in the 800m and 1500m.
As there are only 6 rejection they can either contact me for a refund or I can leave them on reserve list and if any withdrawals in those events come I can slot them in, either way please contact me via email.
Poolside Passes
Please note due to limited capacity in the Wigan Life Centre this event will be closed to spectators.
Coaches passes are can be purchases on the link below.
Select the number of passes you need, then below enter the names and Swim England numbers of the coaches/team managers who need to use those passes.
If you have two people attending on Saturday and two different people on the Sunday you need to put all 4 people’s names and Swim England’s numbers in the box.
Coaches and team managers must have the following.
- Swim England Membership
- Current DBS
Named pass holder will be checked and anyone not meeting the criteria will not be able to access the venue, please ensure you check yourself or provide evidence if you Swim England profile is not up to date.
Officials
As a Level 2 meet all officials must be qualified and because of this we heavily rely on supporting club’s volunteers assisting us with officiating duties. If any officials are able to help with a day, a morning, a session anothing please can you either leave you avbaialbity on officials finder or email officials@wiganbest.com Full expenses will be paid , Thank you.
Entries (Closed)
All entries are to be submitted individually via the Swimming Results entry system. Updated times will not be accepted your entry is final, if you are registered to multiple clubs please ensure you select the club you wish to represent at this meet correctly. There will be no spectating at this event however we are looking feasibility of streaming the event.
