3 BEST swimmers pulled out life time bests to make the finals on day 1 of the British Championships in Sheffield. In the heats of the 17/18 years mens 400 freestyle Harley Beentjes produced a lifetime best of 4:04.64 to make his first ever British final. He then went on to lower his time to 4:03.50 to finish in a fantastic 8th place (3rd 17 year-old).
Jodie Gittins continued the super performance for the club making her first British final, in the girls 15 years 200 Free, Jodie took on the best in the country and produced a lifetime best of 2:06.93, finished in an excellent 5th place.
13 year old Faye Bayman produced an excellent heat swim of 34.57 to take herself into the final of the 13/14 year girls 50m breaststroke, swimming against the top 14 year-olds Faye finished in an excellent 9th place.
This is a great opening day for the club and well done to the swimmers for a great days work.
