2016 has certainly commenced with a bang, firstly we have had the Community Swim Club Development Meet held at Wigan LC on the 3rd January. This event shows us the up and coming talent within the Borough, swimmers who are yet to join the Squad and the road to success within competitive swimming. The event was a great success and well done to both Wigan ASC and Atherton & Leigh Swim Clubs for organising this very successful event, without doubt standards within the Borough have improved immensely over the previous 3 years. This is great credit to all the swimming clubs and teachers and coaches within our development programme.
This event was quickly followed by our 200m IM swim where again we saw some excellent improvements right across the groups. (A full report can found here)
We must also congratulate the following swimmers, who following a meeting of the Lead Coaches have been identified for moving ability groups based on their achievement’s of the criteria for the next group.
